Bid Day!!!
Today was bid day I was so anxious as I was hoping my pick invited me to be part of their sorority. I was so excited when I got there today & my Rho Gamma handed me my invitation asking me to be a part of Sigma Kappa!!!! Everything was decorated so nicely with all our colors. ΣK isn’t just two letters you wear on your chest; it’s about being a part of a group of girls who will always be there for you. It was such an emotional day as I met with sisters from the sorority & they took me under their wings. I am so proud to be called a lil Dove....

Preference Night
Before I began, I met with my Rho Gamma to see the party invitations I got back from the chapters. I could only attend up to two parties. Tonight was the most formal night of recruitment, and these parties were some of the most emotional in formal recruitment as I was deciding what sorority I could see myself in for life. I participated in special ceremonies that revealed the strongest characteristics and foundations of the ideals that they live by and value most.
I spoke privately with sisters and heard testimonials about their personal experiences. One sister opened up to me about what helped her choose her sorority, what their sisterhood means to them personally, and what it could potentially mean to you. She told me that any sorority would be lucky to have me. That meant so much to me to hear that. At the end of the night, I met with my Rho Gamma to make my final decision and figure out which sorority I wanted to become a lifelong member of. I ranked the sororities in your order of preference for an invitation to join.
My last long night of no sleep....can't wait for tomorrows Bid Day!!

Sisterhood & Traditions Night
Tonight was a night for longer and more meaningful, in-depth conversations. I really began to understand what each sorority stood for and the unique values and standards that they believed in. I was looking for the qualities that I could identify with and want in a positive sorority experience. It was more formal than the last two nights, but still somewhat casual. At the end of the night, I met with my Rho Gamma and ranked the three sororities. Yet another loooong & sleepless night!

Philanthropy Night
Tonight I participated in a variety of craft activities & games that helped me get to know the chapter’s national philanthropy. I also learned about the new member program of each chapter. Conversations were much longer & in depth tonight. It gave me the chance to hear some personal accounts of sorority life from the sisters I met. I learned more about what makes each sorority unique. At the end of the night, I met with my Rho Gamma and rank the three organizations that were on my bid sheet. Another sleepless night!!!!

Sorority 101
Tonight was designed to introduce me to each individual chapter and to see what Greek life at FIU is all about! It helped me understand what each sorority has to offer and started to give me a feel for where I might be most comfortable. This tag was so each sorority could learn my name and my ranking number. Angela my Rho Gamma gave us these fun stickers to decorate them! The night was long & hectic, I was going from chapter to chapter talking to different sisters I met a lot of great girls. By the end of the night I had to rank the seven sororities from most to least favorite. Cant wait to see what bids I get back tomorrow...wont be able to sleep tonight.

Meet My Rho Gamma
Today I met with my Rho Gamma Angela she was so sweet. She had these letters waiting for each one of us. I LOVED it , it meant so much to me to be a part of something so BIG yet so personal. I also met with everyone in my group there were over 500 girls rushing this year that was the most FIU has ever had Rush at one time before. It was so exciting meeting everyone & going from sorority to sorority. I loved them all its going to be hard to pick just one in the end. I hope they liked me as much as I liked them. Overall I think it went great I was positive, chipper & very friendly when meeting the sisters.
